GA4 and Google Tag Manager consultant in Croatia, working remotely across the EU

I'm Mihael Turkalj, a measurement and paid media specialist based in Croatia. Through my own practice, MT-MEASUREMENT, a Croatian sole proprietorship with EU VAT ID HR18247511346, I set up, audit and fix GA4 and Google Tag Manager for brands and agencies, remotely, on CET. For five years at Omnicom Media Group I owned the measurement layer that campaigns were optimised and bid against, so I know where the numbers break.

01What I do

  • GA4 audits and configuration

Conversion definitions, event design, attribution, cross-domain debugging, and the data-quality checks that catch duplicate conversions and self-referrals before they reach the bidding.

  • Google Tag Manager in production

Naming conventions, trigger logic and a QA pass before anything publishes, across every property and market in the account.

  • dataLayer specification

What the site pushes and when (a form submitted, a product viewed, a step completed), so an event means the same thing everywhere.

  • Ecommerce and conversion tracking

GA4 ecommerce events, Google Ads conversion tracking and enhanced conversions, defined as the conversions campaigns are then bid against.

  • Consent Mode v2

Basic as the standard, Advanced where traffic clears Google's modelling thresholds, with the CMP wired into the tags. More on the Consent Mode and server-side page.

  • Reporting on top

Looker Studio over Supermetrics and native connectors, and SQL on the GA4 BigQuery export when the interface is not enough.

02How I work

  1. Audit first

What actually fires, what counts as a conversion, and what consent does to both. Nothing gets rebuilt before that is clear.

  2. A written plan

The event and dataLayer specification, the conversion definitions and the consent behaviour, agreed before implementation.

  3. Implementation

In a GTM workspace, with a QA pass before publishing; GA4 configured to match the plan.

  4. Proof

Every scenario tested with the real hits: before consent, after a refusal, after acceptance, and for a returning visitor. Not just a GTM preview screenshot.

  5. Handover

Documented so your team can run it without me.

03Proof you can check

  • This website

GTM and GA4 behind Consent Mode v2 in Basic mode, with the consent banner as a mini-game. Nothing reaches GA4 before a choice; refusing sends nothing; allowing analytics sends the page view and the choice. Verified with every GA4 hit intercepted.

  • wot-is-gtm.com, my measurement lab

A WooCommerce store built to run what cannot be tried on a client account: server-side GTM, the Google tag gateway on Cloudflare and consent scenarios. Open the lab.

  • Inheriting an account

Taking over from another agency: audit the structure, connect the data sources, implement tracking and Consent Mode where they were missing, and only then move to conversion-based bidding.

  • Multi-market reporting

One data model for a multi-brand FMCG client, with the same metric definitions for every brand and market, and more than a hundred Looker Studio dashboards a year used directly by the client.

04Questions

Do you work remotely?

Yes. I am based in Croatia and work remotely on CET with teams and agencies across the EU.

Can you invoice as a company?

Yes. I work through my own practice, MT-MEASUREMENT, a Croatian sole proprietorship with EU VAT ID HR18247511346, and invoice directly.

Can you work white-label for our agency?

Yes. I work as your subcontractor on a white-label basis, so the client relationship stays with you, or I contract directly with your client, whichever you prefer.

Do you implement server-side GTM on client accounts?

Server-side GTM is built and running in my own environment, not on a client account yet. I say that up front, because you would find out in the first technical call anyway.

Which tools around GA4 do you cover?

Google Tag Manager, Google Ads conversion tracking and enhanced conversions, Consent Mode v2 with a CMP, Looker Studio, Supermetrics and BigQuery on the GA4 export. Meta Pixel and the Conversions API I have implemented on my own site.

How do we start?

Email me or book a 20-minute call. The first step is usually an audit of what is already there.
